Golden Bear Insurance has completed the migration of its claims data from a legacy AS/400 system to Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud in partnership with InsOps.
The migration was part of Golden Bear’s ongoing efforts to modernize its claims technology. For years, the company operated its AS/400 claims platform alongside newer systems, creating parallel environments that increased operational complexity and slowed the transition to a fully cloud-based claims solution.
The project involved migrating decades of historical claims data into Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud. Given the age and structure of the legacy system, the data required careful interpretation, mapping, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency in the target platform.
InsOps supported the migration by applying its Insurance-trained AI SLM to interpret legacy claims data structures and assist with data mapping and validation throughout the process. This approach allowed Golden Bear to continue processing claims while the migration was underway, ensuring continuity of day-to-day operations.
The successful migration to the Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud reflects our commitment to using modern technology to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. We value our collaboration with InsOps and the disciplined approach they brought to this migration.
Michael Hall, Vice President of Golden Bear Insurance Company.
Following the completion of the migration, Golden Bear decommissioned its legacy AS/400 claims system. Claims data is now fully available within Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud, enabling the company to operate on a modern, cloud-based platform and reduce its reliance on legacy infrastructure.
This project demonstrates how an insurance-trained AI SLM can support complex claims data migrations without disrupting live operations.

The completion of the claims data migration represents a key step in Golden Bear Insurance’s broader modernization efforts.
