Data migration remains one of the most persistent and costly challenges for P&C insurers, with programs often extending beyond planned timelines and budgets.

We created LiLa, an insurance-trained LLM purpose-built for P&C insurers to help solve this challenge. As a Technology partner, we will build a data migration accelerator extension, making this solution available to customers on Guidewire Marketplace.

Because LiLa is trained specifically on insurance domain data, it naturally understands how insurance information is structured, what it means, and how it needs to map from one system to another. 

Whether insurers are migrating decades of legacy data into Guidewire InsuranceSuite, onboarding a TPA's claims data into Guidewire ClaimCenter, or consolidating acquired books of business after an M&A transaction, LiLa handles the complexity of each scenario.

It understands the structural differences between source systems, resolves semantic mismatches, and keeps the migration on track without requiring a custom-built solution for every new project. The result is faster migrations, cleaner data, and significantly lower project risk.

We demonstrated this with Golden Bear Insurance. The insurer needed to migrate over 40 years of claims data from an AS/400 system to Guidewire ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud. A project of that scope typically runs 18 to 24 months. 

However, we completed the migration with LiLa in 6 months at 99-plus percent data accuracy, with near-zero disruption to operations and over $2 million in realized cost savings.
